I've heard Albert Hall for Friday too. Nothing definitive though

If there's anyone it's worth spending £70 quid on a gig ticket for, it's Prince. Went to see him twice at the O2 in 2007 and would pay ridiculous money to see him again. Best live performer in the world and has been for ridiculously long.

Anyone with a couple of hours on their hands could do worse than watch the concert vid in that link btw. Unbelievable production, tracklist and talent throughout the band, not just Prince.

Would rather pay more to see an act I love in a smaller venue than pay less and see them in a bigger one.

is the academy the uni?
saw friendly fires in the big hall a few years. its just a big school hall type thing, no?
was up on the balcony getting drunk for free, wasnt really watching the band. but cant see how its a "shit" venue.

re: oi poloi.
a smug bunch of ill-informed tossers giving bad service & advice.

i know the independent shop is a dying breed but fucking hell, if you are the only shop like that in the whole city, at least employ people that know their stuff, give a shit and want to sell clothes.

They built a new venue next door to the SU and renamed it Academy 1. The old Academy 1(the hall in the SU) became 2. Prince will be in the new one that's like a Manchester Met add-on. Characterless really. Of all the venues he could have gone to, it's the most boring but probably higher capacity than Apollo and the Ritz, I think?
