Also theres a new one I've heard is good, although not been myself, called Grindsmith near Harvey Nicks (Nothing to do with the one that was in the NQ)

My mate set up Grindsmith, its a great idea and he has been very serious about coffee for years.

I like North Tea Power in NQ, Teacup is good but a bit busy and pricy, not very relaxing and although I haven't been Takk on Tariff St looks cool. Its very Macbook / beard / small round glasses though.

Thanks gents, usually end up in one of the high street chains whenever I'm away from home, so wanted to check some independents. Will try these out.

Grindsmith and Caffeine and Co good if you're on the move, Grindsmith will be great in summer when you can sit off in that square.

Takk great to sit and work, coffee and sandwiches are spot on.

North tea power somewhere in between, exposed lightbulbs make the place like a sweatfest at times and there is always some scruffy dickhead hogging the tables.

Fig and sparrow are also worth a look, the Food is good but a bit nonsense (everything was served in jars last time I was in.

Home sweet home does a solid filter coffee and next level cakes.

Teacup / koffee pot are alright for a last resort.

Best place in city centre to watch my beloved blue boys put in a valiant effort but still get knocked out tonight? I normally go (couldn't get the leave from work, pah) so I'm not very well versed in shouting at a television.

Can someone add the football places to the original post? Gets asked every week.

I dont know about Man City pubs but the usual - Tib St Tavern, Montpelliers in NQ are good.

I think the Old Grapes might be a city pub? Near Deansgate. Also on Deansgate the Lost Dene and Sawyers Arms are Wetherspoons esque places. Pretty sure they have the normal televised games.
