Went Beef and Pudding last night. Food, drinks and atmosphere all great, tons of meat and fish options including this ridiculous 4kg beef rib they were showing off, looked so good. First new place that's opened this year that feels like its London standard.

Breakfast - Solita now do a menu, Home Sweet Home, Gorilla

Sunday lunch book at Sam or Thomas Chop House? Not been here but gets a good write up for sunday lunch - http://www.manchesterconfidential.co.uk/Food-and-Drink/Pertutti-Just-How-A-Sunday-Roast-Should-Be

Not totally impartial though

I believe they've spunked around half a mil kitting it out.
No idea how the hell a restaurant works as a business.
I mean surely you gotta serve like 50k- 100k punters to break even

Didn't understand the hype? Maybe it's teething issues but the service was slow, even when not busy. Eggs (on brunch, if you can't even cook eggs correctly on a brunch it's an immediate fail) on both dishes were overcooked. Girlfriend had asparagus soldiers wrapped with bacon, with a boiled egg. Asparagus also overdone/tasteless.

No spoons served with boiled egg nor coffee. No butter with toast etc. Little things, but it just felt like everything had to be asked for - and even then, it was too fucking slow. The fry-up was OK.

Went to Caffeine + Co - enjoyed.

Moose and Home Sweet Home was also a good-shout.

Beef and pudding is right opposite my office. Looks a bit pricey for what it is.

Anyone recommend a pub/bar in NQ an area/table for 10-20 people could be reserved for on a Sat night?

Most of the places I would normally go will be too busy for a group of 10+

Hard to book off tables in the NQ on a saturday. Bluu might do it, and Walrus might, but they aren't great bars.

Worth trying TV21's too/

Although I'm not a fan, Kosmonaut have always let me book tables when needed.

There is a fair bit of space at Kosmanaut at least. Booking something round the corner in the other room, and can pop downstairs for a dance

Nah, it was earmarked.

I actually hate kosmonaught. Full of chiefs. Bar called Eleska opening on Dale street soon but it looks to be a gay bar from the furniture decor and the bloke who's running the gaff. Really into 2022 at the moment for casual drinks.
