Couldn't disagree more. Its like its trying to be a London boozer but its completely shite, the interior is all 'aged' and the beers are mad expensive for Manchester - Its a Hydes pub for fuck sake. Also, I was in there last saturday night from about 7-11, and I saw about 6 girls the whole time. 4 of them were barmaids.

Also food is dogshit.

I might have got overly excited Smiling parents weren't impressed. It's seems to have stolen some of the Millstone crowd too. It'll be interesting to see what happens around this area soon as i think they'll be a point of saturation approaching.

You can't beat the "rustic charm" of the Millstone.

Since i fly Tuesday i'm looking to try and get some specific pointers if i can.

Food wise is Almost Famous and Solita maybe the way to go? Would be looking for a burger one night and probably a good steak another.

Wouldn't mind a look around a few shops if i could, what is there other than Oi Polloi as i can't think of others apart from Togs & Clogs?

Still not a clue where we're heading club wise, would be looking for house/EDM/dance kind of place with women and as little dickheads as possible?

Would also be looking to go to a bar or two around the Etihad Stadium that the away fans would be in. Do you know where the away fans drink beforehand?

Fair amount of questions but any good info would be incredibly appreciated.

Adidas Kev - I preferred the burgers at Gorilla, tastier than Almost Famous, classic style. Think AFs` food is a bit too greasy, which wouldnt be as bad if it came out hot but it doesnt always. Not really a place you want to fuck about sending stuff back either. The hotdogs are horrible.
Them special fries that someone recommended at Gorilla were absolutely disgusting tho.

Places will either have dickheads and birds, or no birds and no dickheads (eg Soup Kitchen or Krak).

So we've got three shops, one that sells mainly trainers that no one likes and birk slippers, a vintage shop opposite a sex shop, and then Oi Polloi. Three restaurants - one the Mistake thinks is dogshit, a place where the food is luke warm and greasy with the added pleasure of queing around the building, and then Gorilla, horrible fries Laughing out loud Two clubs with no birds. Modern day ManchesterSmiling

Of course, but i was hoping there may have been somewhere that had birds and not too many 'banter boys' but it is NYE so they'll be out in force.

EDM is just an abbreviation to capture all genres of house, i guess you capture this as being its own genre as many do now.

I think i'll check out Solita and then have a look around for others.

Cheers lads.

Gorilla club is large and usually good mix up birds as it's near a student area, otherwise the usual NQ bars are rammed with birds but there isnt really anywhere to dance late around there other than Mint Lounge.

I went in for a quick drink at lunch, barstaff clueless and I agree about the fake aged interior being naff. But still, if you want a large pub to meet at (rules out the Castle and Marble Arch) before going elsewhere that isn't a a genuine place like the Wheatsheaf or Unicorn it's not too bad.

don't mind a new apartment as long as it's not some generic identikit place. guaranteed to have parking with a new gaff today which is a necessity.

will have a look around at those couple and see what's about - ta.
