I think that's a problem for alot of retailers just now. There's no brand(s) that have replaced them.

Was over this weekend just gone.

Foundation and Idle Hands have raised the bar for good coffee finally

Piccadilly Tap is great and the revamped Common was cool

One thing I didn't like was that there didn't seem to be any sort of session beer available, but the food we had (shared a bunch of the small plates) was nice

Find the return to be pretty soulless and the beer prices have gone mad - seem to be hammering discounts and offers to tempt people in yet it always seems pretty busy when I've been in. Weird vibe all round

Commons awful now, lost all its soul.
Can see why they did it though - just a cash cow

Any recommendations for somewhere reasonably inexpensive to eat for group of 6 tomorrow before Wrehouse Project? Needs to be central.

Albert Schloss has opened and it's alright, obviously affiliated with the Albert Hall. It's a bierkeller style but they have gone to town on the beer and the food looks good (german theme).

Also there is a new restaurant/bar currently under-development in the NQ (Tariff st way) which is called Cottonopolis, could be a really good place from what I've heard.

Lots of stuff popped up this year so far, and much more planned. Forza Manchester.

Pan Asian food in the latter apparently, just walked passed the doorway, not too far off opening. Should be another good addition.
