It’s a welcome addition. OP is pretty shit nowadays.
I’d pay for decent denim and they have stuff no one else sells.
I like trying my stuff on with guys with good knowledge and there’s nothing like that in Manchester.

Go get a table for one in umezushi need to book but it’s an experience and the sushi is the best available anywhere
Other than that tiffin room on first street in town is excellent Indian street food
For Chinese I would recommend wings on Lincoln square as the service is exceptional
Standard stuff but good is Randall and Aubin or hawksmoor or Dishoom
In Northern Quarter go to Evuna for proper authentic tapas or go to ancoats for something trendy and try rudys for wood fired pizza or sugo for the best pasta around
Also macky mayor is basically street vendors indoors and the Bao buns and pizzas in there are spot on
For coffee go to takk or siopshop ( also amazing donuts ) in northern quarter or if you are in the main part of town any grindsmith does decent coffee as does PKB
I never stay in hotels so no idea but the above will give you decent grub and drinks

Anyone know if I’ll be ok going to the ivy in my CP’s? Going to Manchester for my birds birthday on Monday, only going to be calling in for drinks. Website just says smart casual, not really my scene but she will be happy to get some pics for Instagram

You'll be fine, mucker. Was in the Ivy on Sunday in a pair of Air Force 1's.

You could go to the original Ivy in work overalls and eat pie and chips if you wanted.

The chain store high street ‘Ivy’ is one of the worst things to happen and it’s built on the pretence/falsehood or misunderstanding that the Ivy was uber sophisticated and posh. It was a gastro pub.

Ivy asia is an expensive sat night place for sure but the brasserie which is the focus is in no way posh

New shop opened on Edge St called Kersh Kicks. Basically full of sneaks, and Palace and Supreme tees being duttied for three times their RRP, and way above. All the trainers are vaccumed packed like sandwiches, and all the clothing in plastic zipped bags, all prerty unappealing, especially when you see the asking price. Even selling Kaws x Uniqlo tees for something stupid like £60 each

Loads and loads of bars and restaurants have opened in the past two years. Try Edinburgh Castle, Jane Eyre and Blossom St Social in Ancoats.

Yard store opened next to fjallraven in the old chipie store from back in the day
COS in the old gap but for some reason just feels shit in there , isn’t my scene anyway
Menswear is still an issue but on the food and drink front Manchester comes into its own again
Blue eyed panda for Chinese on Ancoats is excellent
Pollen now has a bigger menu and table service
There’s a new Japanese robata grill opening soon in Barton arcade basement but it’s not ready yet but one to watch for sure
Also check out sushi marvel for a quick and very good quality bite to eat
Abeja tapas at hatch on oxford road is meant to be amazing but I haven’t tried it yet
The chilli B Thai kitchen in Mackie mayor is very good and portions are huge it took over from the bao bun place in October and is much better
I don’t drink so can’t shout out any new bars but coffee places all the usuals which haven’t changed for me siopshop tib street has the best brews in town still
Peace
