Nah, I don't generally stop liking something if it's popular/easily available. Those underground brands have always had a connection to the mainstream. I firmly believe what they believe. What's good is good. It's not bad because it's popular and it's not good because it's underground.

I still apply my sense of aesthetics to every product I buy, a muji lunch box or a piece of taps. Most taps I would never buy, even back then, would never buy just for elusiveness reasons, gotta be a great product with the aesthetics and references I want worked into the design. The brand has to have a "story" as well. Like Ikea doesn't have a "story", Eames does. It so happens that the Eames designs were quintessentially American, not too showy, practical, great proportions and great quality thanks to Herman Miller and built to last. The perfect product for me. Do I care that my DSWs have been endlessly copied and are sneered at by furniture snobs in vintage stores? I don't give a fuck.

You must have had Jordans? About the most mainstream shoe there is and not very hard to get, even the retros in the right colorways the last 20 years. But they're still fucken cool products..

Do you buy TNFPL coz it's elusive? Or cos it's the best product you've found for the aesthetic you want?

Not giving a fuck what other people think or buy (even the "cool" ones) has done me well, you might want to try it?

Wanted the palace tri-ferg logo's shape incorporated through slow cooked gradients to emerge as a sublime sublimate. Instead we got; DPM and black.

Yeah, jordan 1 was pretty mainstream back in the days i guess, same goes with og railroad levis. Yet I wasn't a railroad worker, but by the time i wanted those and like the first am95:s it was to elusiveness, i like shit that hard to get and/or is expensive, don't we all? Just take the mod approach, appreciate the new cause it's better, certainly is more modern, we all have to evolve. Otherwise no point in fashion? We can all get tiki bars and buy aloha shirt on ebay and embrace elvis as the peak of civilization?!

Bit confused about this palace stuff tbh? Is it a new slam city(cool) or something else? Supreme bites and red tabs on camo? Just means some toothless guy is getting really fucked while paintballing!?

See I never wanted or owned 95s. Yeah the elusiveness/exclusiveness was there but to me 97s always looked better and I was into those even though they were less exclusive.

I'm so fundamentally opposed to what you said here.

Well I never liked fashion personally, I always liked gear.

Plenty do and why not? They're good stuff. Better than oversized interior novelty letters and Bruno Mars.

Looks like Arktis has supplied to the British Army since 1985, they woulda output their share of DPM. What's wrong with DPM? It's one of the best looking camos ever done. Palace stuff looks good. The newer camos look uninspiring to me with the exception of USMC Marpat and USN Type III.

Someday store should do a collab with Platatac down the road for some Antipodian readiness steez

I don't like the new Taps, yeah it is mostly just stupid prints with minimal creativity or the eccentric design it used to have. I still seek out the old Taps.

As a UK person the DPM (despite having the best initialism) just reminds me of watching documentarys on the Falklands and idiots who were hoodwinked into joining the Forces part time from school.

Digi camo / tiger camo / etc etc seem 'better' as they are relatively exotic, despite their negative connotations.
