my nearside drive shaft is fucked, now ive just looked on my MOT from 20/5/09 and they replaced the nearside cv boot - i put the broken drive shaft down to the pothole i hit last week, but am i right in thinking if they aint fitted this CV boot properly this could have been the precursor to my broken driveshaft?

I the boot came off and the grease has come out leading to a dry joint or all the crap from the road got in then it certainly wont have done it any good. I doubt you've got any chance of proving that they fitted the boot incorrectly even if that was the case.

How do you know the driveshaft is fucked? Sound definitely like the boot has come off or split. You may be able to get away with cleaning it up and replacing the driveshaft boot and grease.

I have a feeling from a thread a while back Noble has an R8. He posted a photo of a wheel which looked just like an R8 but wouldn't say much more about it.
