2016 onwards 330/335d estate would be worth looking into imo

been considering one for a while but this ^ has been putting us off, street parking too, perhaps the estate is less desirable (+ understated which is nice but rear end is dull)

those old M5 tourings are notoriously unreliable (so they say) and expensive af to repair. definitely avoid

Denmark is the same. super high taxes on new cars. even importing cars from neighbouring countries results in huge tax bills

I’ve had a 3 series touring for 3 months - pretty good to drive. Initially didn’t rate the natsav but once you configure it to how you want it’s great. Boot space is prob smaller than merc/VW/Audi. I prefer auto over manual in a BMW.

Laughing out loud sorry a >decade old BMW with a V10 might not be the smartest move if he is looking at 2-3 year old estates

F31 (2017) no x-drive. 320d M sport. The missus drives it more than I do.

Those new 3-series X drives do look really nice. Have to test one out before making any decisions. 335i XDrive M-sport could actually be quite decent. Cheers!

Why are people buying xdrives?

Might make a bit of sense in Finland but even there most people seem to drive fwd cars.

A lot of standing water an occasional snow in my ends with 60+ miles of ill maintained road til civilisation. The M135i got bogged down a couple of times last year so had to reach for the extra traction

Test drove a 2017 Golf R Estate yesterday and am now waiting for a 2018 R Estate to be delivered. Should be here no later than tomorrow and available for delivery later this week.

A 2018 facelift version with basically all options except Nav as can use Apple CarPlay/Android Auto for that. Lapiz blue as they don't offer silver for the facelifted R anymore.

Next up is updating the softwares and installing a few hardware bits in order to get it moving properly.
