He’ll be at the top end of that £25k for what’s likely to be a money pit

I'm Open to being persuaded but surely a 95000 mile porsche is going to be worse than a new Q3?

It’s pretty shit, but using Siri with apple play is much better. I have an XC40 plug in hybrid and the mpg is pretty rubbish. To be fair we rarely charge it but when we do it gets a few miles on full electric before it runs out, on petrol we’re getting an average 27mpg. We only got it last summer so with lockdown most of the trips have been short but in our XC90 we used to get about the same mpg so was expecting better from the XC40.

I get better mpg out of my xc60, how are you driving it to get a mpg that low from an xc40?

I honestly have no idea, at the moment they’re mainly 10 minute trips for nursery drop offs etc and I live in London so a lot of stop start. I’ll ask them to check it out when it’s serviced, it’s a company car so I’m not overly bothered but I expected it to be better.

what year is yours? are you saying you don't get the miles that they claim out of the electric? While I would love to go electric, either partial or fully I spend £900/year on petrol so it's not really a massive saving, so if i install a car charger is £500 and then my garage freeholder is going to want an admin fee, because he's a cunt so really it's just going to be a pain.

Mine was new last September so 2020, it’s the “Recharge plug in hybrid” so is meant to get up to 28 miles pure electric and 117.7-134.5 mpg. I haven’t got near that off a full charge, I know someone else who has one and theirs is a bit better but still way off the official figures. Apparently the charge lasts a bit better in summer.
We don’t have a charging point at home so just charge it when we’re out and about so it hardly ever gets charged which I don’t think helps.

Got a 21 plate evoque.
Apart from its chavvy connotation, it’s a lovely car and interior/spec wise, was miles ahead of the other options we were considering.

what is the voice recognition like? for me it's a big issue, I have moved from android to apple phone and siri is sh*t compared to android so want the car to have it's own.

All i really want is to navigate with it
Although the bmw personal assistant sounds funky but not available on any model I'm considering
How much did you get off list price for new?

I’ve got Siri on my van as well, I think it’s decent for what I use it for.
Never had android so wouldn’t know the difference.

Managed to get 4K off list for an SE. Tried 30 different dealers, and they couldn’t match anywhere near what our dealer gave us.
Apparently they’re flying out the doors at the moment, so they’re not overly keen on discounting much.
