I watched a Spurs game at Banter in Williamsburg.
Was alright, good beers.
Americans trying to start chants is really cringe though.

any good recommendations for cheap eats / good bars?

also would be interested in what's good for shopping. will try opening ceremony but would be interested in other boutiques and thrift / vintage places

Beacons Closet is the best thrift shops. There are several darted across NYC and Brooklyn.

might be a bit late on this, but thrift stores:

fun store in williamsburg to look around

raggedy threads in wburg also good

and wooden sleepers in red hook

lots of good consignment stores for higher end stuff dotted around – ina is a mini chain with some good stuff

can find good deals on nice stuff in beacons closet if you look for a bit, but its not really curated so most of it is crap

Going for a week next month, any good bars / reasonably priced eateries that should be booked in advance?

Already got a gig sorted, comedy club, thinking maybe a Knicks game.

Also day trips that are worth it?

Pio Pio on 10th Ave is amazing Peruvian food. The Rotisserie chicken is awesome. Viceroy rooftop bar on 57th St down from Carnegie Hall is worth a visit for view & cocktails.

Momofuku and Cafe China great for food. Also got to Katsz deli. Sylvia’s in Harlem for soul food. Astoria in queens good for cheap eats.

Red Rooster for live music. Smalls for Jazz.

Mister Sunday a good day party. Vandal on LES good for dressed up crumpet. Lots of decent bars and clubs in Brooklyn. Output has a good sound system.

Brooklyn Mirage a big rave. Paradise on in Sept with Omar S and Jamie Jones.

Go to Moma, the Met and Whitney museum. Lombard is for pizza. Ellis island also a good trip on the ferry.

Top of my head that’s it. If you get bored download Tinder and put a Union Jack in your bio Eye-wink

Well done for actually moving there NB!

Thanks for the tips all, keep them coming. Going with my Mrs so more likely to be jazz / blues than Tinder with EDM night as a backup Eye-wink

Second momofuku. No bookings. Just wait at the noodle bar. There is a good Italian place on the corner by it for a drink whilst waiting.

New York cricket club is worth a stop for a drink. Bar it is part of also does a good dollar oyster happy hour. 2 for one drinks.

Smalls is good for jazz but the same owners have a smaller place down the road called mezzrow that is excellent. Jam sessions until early in the morning.

Black iron burger in east village is great.

Bar 65 at rainbow rooms has cracking views and same cost for two cocktails as it is to go up to rockerfeller viewing platform. Have to book that one.

Rookwood music hall too. Three rooms. Pay for two of them but not for one. Different band each hour. All are good standard.

Russ and daughters around the corner (by Katz) does best salmon bagels too.

Going at the end of the month for 5 nights with the girlfriend.

Are these Superfuture Guides any good these days, how often are they updated for example?
The New York one is only $20, unless anyone has it?
