Is this lense a comparable Nikon equivalent to the canon lense that you use to get your night-time and gig shots?http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/item/355-626P/
I use a D-40, and love the 'cold' look you get in some of your photos. I've used a 350D and its got quite a cool tungsten setting taht gives this effect. Is this what you use or is it all down to the lense?
Sorry I've only just picked up on this.
My main lens now is a Canon 35mm f1.4 L lens. I've just sold my 50mm f1.4 and 17-40mm f4 as my 35 made them redundant.
The one you posted is what I used to have, it's a really good lens for portraits and low light conditions due to the aperture, but what with it being a very "up close lens" bundled with the fact that you have a cropped sensor, you'll have to take a few steps further back for a group shot.
I tend to under expose a lot of my photos, hence the "cold" look in some of them.
Rest of my holiday pics are here…BangkokSingapore
For the record, I highly recommend that hotel in Bangkok, was a 5min walk from the MRT which took another 5-10min to get into central Bangkok. On the outskirts so it's easy to catch a taxi too and traffic isn't bad. Worked out to be around £13 a night per person based on two people sharing. Included an "international" breakfast buffet too. Only picked up a few pieces, a Raf tee for myself from the Club21 there
got my 7% tax back! Made it worth the while… and a couple of pieces of Alex Bitter jewellery for the missus.
