Pics are nowhere near as quality as most but thought i would contribute:
Just came back from India for 10 day trip, place was barking as normal
As we live in the Punjab, our nearest airport is based at Amritsar.
Anyhow, we had a stop off in some eastern european country so we grabbed a beer.
Since his exile, man dem is doing it big!

We arrive at 6am, so it would be rude not to visit this place before we go home to our village and see the family.
The Golden Temple of Amritsar, the original house of bling:

Whenever i go over, or most holidays if possible, i try to catch a game. Just so happens that the Aussies were touring this time

Unfortunately, i cannot bring you any pics of the match, the ground etc as the pigs were well harsh and took our cameras, phones etc for 'safe-keeping'. I didnt see my camera again

Plus i got arrested

The game took place in the city of Chandigarth, which is probably the cleanest city in the whole of India.
Transport mode of choice by alot of peeps is a scooter or bike

Must be some inititave on sharing a bike to work

While here, we stayed at the Hotel Taj. This also housed both teams so had my pics taken with the Aussies

those are on my dads camera and upped later on.
We always hire a driver for the day to get us about, dependent on where you want to go etc the most weve paid is £30 for the whole day so it works out well cheap.
Air con is this one dudes whip who we always used

We needed to wash/hide some money

so what better than to build a place!
Alot of elder indians do this for them to retire and move back in.
We have done it as we needed a place with decent facilities for whenever we went over, as its normally at least once a year
So, allow the pics but they may be of interest to some

The bar area

The view from the bar, like being in the home counties

Wash basins for the en-suites that weve had

Its a 3 storey place with 4 bedrooms plus en-suites, 2 reception rooms, kitchen, garage and rooftop bar
All this for the price of a street of houses oop north
Some of the lads are also doing the same thing, this is ones place and its wicked:

Swimming pool

When i went to Jallandhar which is a city about an from our village, this was the view from my hotel room at 8am

Here we stayed at the Raddison and also the Leo Fort hotels.
We were on the pop each night, wednesday being the heaviest of the lot as 20 went out at a total cost of £75

Overall the place is developing at a rapid rate.
It still amazes me at the contrast that you can have in a town of the rich vs the poor. To see that at its ultimate, a visit here is a must.
We'll all be going over when our places are done next october for a couple of weeks for a large one so cannot wait for it!
Next trip is a long weekend in nyc at christmas
