Mama Shelter is miles away from the centre of Paris.

Want to go away in September for 3/4 days, going to France for a week at the end of June so would rather go somewhere with lots to do rather than to relax. Going with a 9 month old, so I'm at a complete loss about even where to start. Anyone got any suggestions for a decent city to go to with a young child, was considering Barcelona?

Depends where you're going davol. In the north its going to be a bit cold. In the South its going start getting real hot around the end of this month. Probably the best time to go is around nowish to may down south

Chancce I'm going to the South of Portugal in the late Summer, in a friend's grandparents have a villa there or something. Is there surf? What else to do?

Assuming you mean the Algarve. It's nice, good countryside for cycling/walking etc, lots of nice little towns as you go inland + up mountains and shit. V. nice beaches, best surf will be on the point with the west coast and on the west coast itself. Lots of bars in the tourist towns and on busy beaches. Only thing is, coast is RAMMED during the summer, seriously too busy. Late summer might be good though, depending how late you're talking (wikipedia reckons 450k live there and there are more than a million people knocking about in summer

Has anyone toured India via the rail network? If so, how was it?
