Was in Hamburg when Fulham were playing there so obviously my opinion is a bit skewed. I enjoyed it but we all came to agree that it'd be shit if it was just you and a few mates, was only a laugh because there was 3000 for the semi and then 20,000 English for the final there acting like idiots. Not sure there's much to do there besides the gimmicky clubs.

If you are tokyo, get one their oyster cards asap, you can get one as a deal with the train trip from narita to tokyo central ( i would recommend this over a coach trip in), this time of year is cherry blossom season so you want to go to ueno etc to see the parties, i went in 2010 on got the weekend just right.

looks like you are lucky.

This is a massive party all over tokyo, sakura fever is everywhere.

A bit late now, but if you are travelling everywhere in japan the japan rail card is what you need but you have to buy it in advance before travelling.

tokyo hands dapartment store is a must see.

rest is standard tourist fun.

Cheers HW, I have the JR Rail pass so I think I can use this for the Yamanote line around Tokyo. Kind of bricking it that I'm gonna somehow fuck up my dream holiday Laughing out loud
Send me links and sizes by PM Carl and I'll see what I can find.

Trains can be a little daunting at first(the map was like Jawdropping! as the first thing to see when you step off the plane) but it's easy enough when you start using it often.

Yes you can (thats the big ring line) gets you nearly everywhere you want to go, you just flash it at the ticket entrances.

You can go on the bullet train with that as well, well the slowest ones. (still insanely fast)

kamakura is worth a day trip, for temples and stuff.

nagoya is another massive town, spent a well there as well.

you will get to see a fraction of the place in a week / couple of weeks.

sourcing food everyday can be challenging, but it is way easier than in 2005 etc.

FIL for visvim is quite tough to find, plus it is in the basement.

this was great, you will be in harajuku so make sure you eat there., I went twice. Tons of vintage americana shops to visit there as well.

Went in May last year. Found that it would piss down like you've never seen at about 8pm every day and would last a hour. Just time it so you're eating in that period and it won't upset your holiday at all.

Booked this recently - http://www.travelzoo.com/uk/local-deals/Outside-the-UK/Getaway/14172
Deal expired end of March but it comes back up every couple of months. Keep an eye out - maybe email them and ask if it'll be back up soon.

Not sure if this is any good but worth a look
