Got a week and a bit off next month so going to go to Vietnam again. I want to avoid all the main tourist areas this time. Anyone got any decent suggestions on places to visit?

But seriously. Is it just all sleazy bars or is there any decent bars/clubs/things to do out there? Hillarious.
Been living in Manila for a while now.. Plenty of night life if Asian scene is your cup of tea. Plenty of very nice diving if you're into that. PM me if you want any additional info.

Also loads of nice pubs, restaurants, etc. Anything you want to know specifically? I've been to Antwerp loads of times, usually go there at least once every two months. Great place for shopping as Antwerp is home of lots of designers (i.e. Stephan Schneider, Raf Simons, Ann Demeulemeester, etc).
Want to do some shopping, and check out the architecture and museums. Any recommendations about any of these would help. In terms of shopping, want to stay away from the bigger names (Antwerp 6, etc), any independent shops with new-er designers would be great…
About the diamond district, is there anything you can actually see as a pleb there? Or is it only for the pros?

Im heading there in july for the watch the throne tour amongst other things, going to book http://www.mamashelter.com/en/ based on mates/onine reviews. Looks quite similar to the hoxton in london style/price wise

In terms of museums - there's the Fashion Museum (http://www.momu.be/en/index_momu.jsp?layout=momu) which is worth a visit - this is also very centrally located. They've got a rotating exhibitions (there's no permanent collection) - so check the website to see what's there when you'll visit. Next door there's also a real nice book store with lots of art-related books (architecture,fashion,modern/classic arts, etc)
A little further out of the city center there's the MAS (http://www.mas.be/MAS-EN/Publicatiekanalen/Stad/Musea/Musea-MAS/MAS-EN/Startpagina-MAS-EN.html) which I have yet to visit myself, but already for the architecture itself worth visiting.
If you're into classic arts you can visit the Royal Museum of Fine Arts (http://www.kmska.be/en/).
Shopping is good in every price range. Main shopping (high)streets not that interesting - but Antwerp has lots of smaller boutique stores.
Some things on the top of my head (but there's much more)
- Rosier 41 (www.rosier41.be) is a good store with some new (local) talent and both new & second hand designer clothing. Not super cheap, but I did manage to get some nice things there. 80-90% is womens stuff, but they also have mens stuff (MMM, Schneider, RAF, Jil Sander even sometimes some APC, etc.)
- There's an APC store as well (Lombardenvest 12)
- There's d*zine but I am not sure if it's also mens stuff (http://www.dzinestore.net/)
- Labels Inc (Aalmoezenierstraat) similar to Rosier 41, slightly smaller shop - just a couple minutes walk from Rosier 41
- Have a look at the Dries van Noten store & Stephan Schneider store - even if not buying anything
- Your Antwerp (http://your-antwerp.com/) - nice store, lots of different brands and also nice perfumes (CDGs and some other more exotic brands)
There's more, I'll try to post some other stuff later

Spotted by locals has an Antwerp section and they are usually pretty good.
