if you're stopping in bishop from las vegas to san francisco it's worth doing mammoth instead as it's a cool mountain town and only a small d-tour. mammoth creek inn is reasonably priced and very nice

alright if you like golf..

If you have a car, Lagos http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagos,_Portugal is good for a walk around, visit the fish market / slave market / galleries, etc. If you want to go further, Cap St Vincent Fort is the most westerly point in Europe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_St._Vincent

Stayed with family in KL yesterday and apparently the Perhentians are very crowded now, and it's peak season. So we are taking the local advise and heading to Lang Tengah today. Malaysian government don't advertise this one to keep it less developed.

Do you think 10 days in Vegas would be too much? Did Vegas/LA/San Fran/San Diego last summer and it was amazing but just wanted to chill and stay in once place this year.. original plan was 10 days in Vegas, but don't know if it would be too much and maybe we should do 5 in LA/Miami and then 5 in Vegas..

Personally I think 10 days in Vegas is too much, I'd opt for your second suggestion and do 5 in Vegas and 5 split across one or two other places.

I booked up a long weekend in Melbourne yesterday, as Air NZ were doing cheapo return flights in September. Anybody have any must do's? Things to see, places to eat etc?

I think 10 days in LV is fine, especially if you enjoy laying by a pool.
We recently had a long weekend in SD, simply because LV was expensive as it was memorial day.
Southwest flights were only about £70 (luggage is free).

Cool, Yeah I love laying by the pool.. one lads who we are going with doesnt and its him whos pushing for the other option Laughing out loud

Saying that LA was probably my favourite place we went to so wouldnt mind going back.. still think Im leaning towards just one place though and not having the chew of moving around..

+1

Do 5 days or more beachfront LA and then in to Vegas, drive only takes 3-4hrs.

10 days is too long. I've done 8 days before and it was too much.
