Nusa Dua is a really nice resort, it's different to the rest of Bali; really clean, it's kind of like a gated resort. The beaches are great for learning to surf. The nightlife is pretty quiet, but there are nice bars and restaurants to relax in.

Getting around Bali is not as easy as it should be due to traffic and poor roads. Although, from Nusa Dua there is a toll road which crosses the ocean so you can get to to somewhere like Kuta pretty quick I think.

We took a day trip around Ubud, which was probably the best part of our holiday, some beautiful views across the rice fields. I think the tour ended at sunset at Tanah Lot, the temple in the ocean.

Canggu/Echo Beach have some nice bars along the beach, especially Old Man's Bar. (Edit: Martha and the Muffins, Echo Beach just came on the radio after I wrote that. Weird)

Kuta is alright, some of the clubs are awful, but worth a look anyway.

If you like scuba diving and deers, you can go across to Menjangan Island (Deer Island). Literally deers on the beach chilling. But, it's north of Bali, so it will be a very early start.

If you have time, I would recommend going to Gili Trawangan for a couple of nights. It's more of a backpacker party place, kind of like Phi Phi in Thailand, but still really pretty and worth a look.

Sounds ideal. We've done the lads thing in maga and Benidorm, did Berlin not too long ago for another stag do so Lisbon sounds like good change.

The barrio alto area is perfect for a stag i reckon, loads of bars cheap as chips(beers for 2euros, 1 euro in happy hour).

Nope. Should've probably been a bit clearer. Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, D'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Also, any interesting neighborhoods to just walk around?

Go to Place des Vosges if you haven't, really nice when its sunny. I stayed in Le Marais for a while and its good for bars, cafes etc, nice to walk around. Also Canal Saint Martin again if its sunny, good to sit by and a good vibe. Sorry for the pretty vague recommendations but good starting points.

Yeah, worth checking Point Ephemere along the canal for gigs etc too or just to have a drink, good space.

Going to Düsseldorf on stag this weekend. Any decent bars / clubs for later on when my mates hit the strippers?

Dusseldorf is a good choice for a stag do, you don't have to look any further than the Altstadt really, there are streets with back to back bars and clubs and it's cheap. Depends what your looking for, but they have irish bars, dance clubs, rock bars, electro music etc. I was there on a stag a few weeks ago and we never left the Altstadt other than to find a strip club, which was garbage so we came straight back to the Alt.

A few years ago I went to Rudas Studios which I think was decent.

Thanks illmurray, Anto, andy.

Andy - that place looks cool, I think it's going to be a struggle being vegetarian in France. Indian it is!

Any recommendations for Dublin? There for a few nights for a conference this week. Good places to eat/drink? The organisers have already booked a party at the Guinness Storehouse.

Sorry, only just noticed this. If you haven't already gone and come back it's not actually that tough being a vegetarian in Paris (I'm one too). Most restaurants and cafés I've been to have been happy to make something vegetarian from scratch if they don't have anything on the menu.

There's a decent Italian place across the road from La Patache that has a few vegetarian options. We usually end up going there for food then across the road for drinks.

Have a look at the Happy Cow website for vegetarian places. I don't think I've actually been to any of these as I tend to be with meat-eaters when I'm in Paris.
