Yeah, stayed at agullhara (or something like that) and surfed there, water was super warm.

Cool, sounds like it gets pretty good over there. How were the crowds?

I was the only surfer on the beach we were at. The beach vendors are everywhere. One had a bodyboard to rent, I asked him if he had a surfboard and 10 mins later a thruster appeared! Was £15 for 4 days.

Due to go to Brussels on the 11th December, obviously as things are going it's not looking like a great idea. Bird is getting very concerned, if we decide to cancel I take it there is no chance of getting any money back? Haven't sorted any insurance or anything yet but I don't suppose they would cover it?

^ in the same situation, going on the 13th.. Not cancelled anything yet - thought it would have cleared up in 2-3 weeks?

Of course it could but there's more chance of it happening in a place that's on high terror alert. Bird has lost all confidence in going, luckily had free cancellation on the hotel. Spoke to the airline and they said if the situation is the same a couple of days before we are due to fly they will issue a refund, failing that we lose the money on them.

Any good tips for a long-haul honeymoon destination end of June/beginning of July? Obvious places are somewhere in Caribbean or Mauritius which is abit colder but nothing is really jumping out at me.

Lots of pacific islands will be nice then (lowest rainfall and humidity, still bloody hot) although it's a massive el nino year so not sure how that affects things

Seychelles also nice in Mauritius vibe - personally much preferred the Indian ocean islands I have visited to Caribbean

Tokyo in July/August - is the humidity really bad or alright?

Wanted to go in Easter but one person's a teacher so the two week holiday doesn't give us much flexibility.

I went to Tokyo in July, it was pretty hot and humid, it was ok but we did have to go chill in the park in the shade/duck into air conditioned shops etc for a relief!

Not really a holiday but heading up the Scottish Highlands soon, anyone got any recommendations for great sights? Mountains/valleys etc. Looking at maybe a couple of days of light trekking around the wild (no bear grylls). Been up ben nevis before so any alternatives/advice much appreciated.
