Would recommend Dubrovnik, beautiful place. Small enough to see everything in a few days but still a lot going on to keep you busy. Visit some of the smaller islands as well whilst you're there.

Surely have to consider Paris with the missus? Can't go wrong IMO.

Try here. It's just across the water from the Eifel Tower, lots of nice little shops and restaurants nearby. Also right next to a metro station so easy access to other areas of the city. Pricing was reasonable enough last time I stayed.

Might do doing Paris in October as something on then that I'm wanting to go to.

Dubrovnik be a lot cheaper than Barcelona I'd presume but both look class. Thanks lads.

Porto is nice. Preferable over Lissabon actually. Especially with a family.

I second that, Porto is great. Has a wonderful mix of sandy beaches, culture and food - especially seafood if that's your thing.

Went in April few years ago, not warm enough imo. Sunbathable at times but often cloudy. We had a good time though.

If you do go, this restaurant, https://www.facebook.com/otascomadeira and Barreirinha Bar Café, are both worth a visit.
