Went to Cape Verde in April a few years back, was roasting. Think flights were around 5hrs.

How old? Not everyone's cup of tea but this place is great if you've got kids under 5. Been a couple of times and can't fault it.

Went to Lanzarote a few years ago at the end of April / beginning of May and it was high 20s / low 30s the whole time we were there. Much more cultural than I expected but the flight was an eye opener. Laughing out loud

Just more vests, tracksuit bottoms and breakfast lagers than I'm used to. Don't worry, I've reported myself to the class thread.

I think I'm ready to take a sabbatical from the office.

With regards to travelling SE Asia, does anyone work off a particular figure per day for travelling that has fared them well? Was thinking about 50 / 60 quid a day most likely for about 3 months. Quite happy to slum it a bit as living in the Middle East is probably turning me soft.

£1,500 a month is what i got through over 3 months, used airbnb for most of it and not really slumming it, but i was a student then so my view of slumming probably differs to yours.

Aye that seems about what I was thinking about 5k for 3 months. Where did you go over that time as I guess that impacts it? Thinking of a few of the cheaper places - Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, Bali Philippines and maybe Japan at the end.

No but it's only three hours flight from Bali which if you haven't been is fantastic.

I did years ago. It's only a 2 hour trip to Tulum and a little further to Chichinitza which are obviously places of worth to go and see. I reckon the clubs will be as they were when i was 20 and full of 19 year old Americans which was great at the time. Not sure how much I'd love it now.

There's a cabaret bar called Coco Bongos, it's a laugh.

Stayed in Thailand 3 weeks, mainly just relaxing as was on placement in Kalgoorlie before. Did all of those apart from bali. travelled up to chiang mai, then through Laos into Vietnam and then just flew to each other place, and finally in Goa (which was great).
You dont really need to hold back on a lot, and airbnb is def the way to go in thailand at least.

Great beaches to the north and fremantle just south is a great town. Get the ferry to rottnest Island and see quokkas. Hire a car and head down the coast to Margaret River. So much to do and see around there. Beaches round every corner!
