Great nightlife, great beach.
Friday night down Jaffa when everywhere else is quiet.
Jerusalem and Dead Sea not far away for some day trips. Tel Aviv is fucking great.
Agreed. Awesome place but of course shit one if you do get caught up in a terrorist attack. Same can be said for London right now though.

Biarritz is great! There's a nice spot for a drink up above the grand plage (the surf beach not the main town beach). It's like a beach bar by the pétanque area and you can have a drink and watch the sunset/surf. Then if you walk right (as you look at the sea) towards the town there's a street leading down the hill into town with several small independent restaurants, good burgers/pizza/seafood/pintxos etc. also around the little fishing harbour is a couple of fish restaurants, one a bit more upmarket and the other really casual, we've only eaten at the casual one and it's great, simple cheap and fresh. Sorry for the vague directions - I can try to post a pic of a map if interested

I wouldn't say it's any more expensive than Manchester.
It's not cheap by any means, but it's not scandi prices.
Just be prepared for some odd experiences.
Going through security is like nothing you'll ever see.
It's not even easy getting out.
Some people treat you like shit. Orthodox Jews can be very racist and rude.
There's a lot of cool kids and liberals though and you'll get a mostly good welcome.
Go to the Dead Sea. It's a blast. You just can't stand up. It's like being a weeble. The strangest feeling.

As far as I'm concerned they're just racist to non-Jews.
It's just a culture thing probably left over from the holocaust.
I doubt a black guy would get it any worse than anyone else.
Bare in mind it's a small minority and it won't be any worse than other place.
It was just strange for me to feel white on white racism.
Some places won't even put your change in your hand. They just pop it on the counter as to not touch you. Really blatant but you have to take it with a pinch of salt (kosher of course)
You'll be welcomed most places warmly. The younger generation are cool and it's really cosmopolitan.
I highly recommend you go. I'd be surprised if you got any shit at all.
Steer clear of the long sideburns and you'll be fine. Those fuckers are really hardcore.
