Any recommendations for cabin/lodge type places preferably with a hot tub, somewhere up north?

How far up north? We stayed at Loch Tay Highland Lodges recently, it was pretty good.

+1 for Loch Tay. If it's just for two of you, then the Woodland Cabins are perfect.

Agreed. We stayed in a 2 bed lodge last month but friends stayed in Woodland Cabins and they were much nicer overall.

They do look good. Decent value too! Was there much to do outside the site? i.e Pubs?

The nearest pubs are in Killin which is a 10 minute drive away. The on-site bistro has a bar I think but we didn't go in there. But really it's the kind of place where you bring a few bottles of your own and sit on the verandah / around the fire / in the hot tub and enjoy the peace and quiet.

One downside with the Woodland Cabins is that they're at the top of the site (it slopes down to the lochside) whereas the 2 bed lodges were down at the bottom with a good view of the loch.

There are a few activities that can be booked on-site. We hired a boat one afternoon and cruised the loch. If you want recommendations for things to do in the surrounding area then let me know.

I thought Acne Archive was crap. Workshop is a must.

Stockholm is pricey as fuck, but a cracking city.

Looks like Monarch's for the chop, got a trip to Stockholm booked for December, and I'm not protected, silly me.

Yeah, quite liked it. Could spend a couple of days there. Not much going on though. There's a massive castle nearby that would be worth a trip for the day, never made it sadly.

Thinking of taking the missus to Geneva in December. Any tips? Worthwhile place for a couples holiday?

Couldn't ever imagine holidaying there. It's kinda boring and expensive. Good jumping off point for alps or Annecy though.
