brilliant, that's what I thought at first glance, good to have it confirmed though. Thanks.

Stayed there for a day en route to Italy a few weeks ago. It was a pleasant enough place for wandering around but not really that interesting and we didn't really do very much. Two days would've been a push I think unless you head out of the city and explore the surrounding area.

Heading down to the south coast with the kids next week, thinking of getting the ferry over to IOM for a day trip, is it worth the aggro?

Annecy is nice and it's close by. Not sure how lively it will be in December

Thanks Andy, inversquare.

Decided to sack off Geneva and going to be hitting up Lithuania instead Cool rural areas are pretty special. If anyone's got any suggestions/must sees feel free to post here. Cheers.

Anyone have any restaurant or bar tips for Bangkok? Have a stag night there too so anywhere good on that would be appreciated, but normal places for with a small group or the mrs would also be greatly received.

+1 for Nahm.

One of the best meals I've ever had.

…and it's next door to the Banyan Tree which has a great rooftop bar.

Heading to LA for 2 weeks on Friday.

Any suggestions for things to check out?

Going to be in Long Beach for work for a few days but then will have time to roam around…

Heading Japan for two weeks. Got plenty of recommendations for Tokyo but not a lot for Osaka/Kyoto. Any tips?

It’s fuckng expensive, stayed at hotel moresco last time, was like almost £400 a night and nothing special. Private water taxi from airport a must.

Going to Reykjavik in December, anyone got any recommendations apart from the obvious. Doing blue lagoon and hopefully to see the northern lights. Cheap places to eat would be good, I’m aware it’s a pricey place to go on the whole.

Baejarins Beztu Pylsur. Don't be put off by the queues, they go very quickly. Get one with everything, and order two as it's only £2 a hot dog.

Not cheap cheap, but I highly recommend Fish Company and Messinn. If I had to pick one out of the two, it'd be Fish Company, though my wife preferred Messinn.

If you're heading a bit further south outside of Reykjavik to Skogafoss check out Sveitagrill Míu (small food trailer) for fish and chips. Fish and chips in Iceland is so much better compared to what we have in the UK.

Don't bother with cash. I was there for two weeks back in October, travelled around the whole country and everywhere took card - even the public toilets! Just make sure you use a card that offers free foreign transactions like the Halifax Clarity Card.

go to the jewish quarter/ghetto to get away from tourists (birreria zanon was good for beer in the afternoon sun, and there were some other great bars and restaurants in near proximity). that area is where real venetians actually live and hang out. some students too etc. my godmother has a place on lido so when we visited we stayed there

other recoms - peggy guggenheim museum and osteria trefanti (if you like seafood)
