Flying to Dubrovnik in late August then heading to Montenegro for 4 nights before coming back to Dubrovnik for 3 nights then home.

Venice in October for 3 nights.

Anyone who’s been to any of the above have any suggestions on what to get up to?

Take your wellies.

Venice is great for just wandering with no real set plan, lots of picturesque wee streets set back off the main tourist routes. It's worth taking a water taxi out to Lido di Venezia for a walk on the beach. From memory you can take them from near Piazza San Marco but double check that.

Cheers. Kinda seems like what I’m looking for. I just want to wander and enjoy myself!

Just wondering if anyone had any specific recommendations? Food is my thing.. price isn’t really an issue (no baller). Laughing out loud

Enoiteca Mascareta is a cool little place in Venice - wine bar that also serves decent food. It’s in the east of the city away from the tourists. Full of locals when we went last year.

The Phoenix theatre (la fenice) is incredible inside if you’re interested in classical music or even opera

venice gets a bad rep but it is a great city to visit imo. trendy place to be is the jewish quarter/ghetto. loads of small bars and restaurants full of locals and no tourists (honest). go for a walk along fordamenta dei ormesini, have a beer at birreria zanon. again, some great small restaurants along there.

if you want good food head to osteria trefanti. owned by a family friend of mine. if you don't like fish don't bother though. you can ask the guys in there for other recommendations in the area, there was a great wine bar round the corner but I can't remember what it was called

also go visit the peggy Guggenheim museum if you like art. really good

gravedig post. not sure osteria trefanti is open atm. staffing problems supposedly

Head to kotor in Montenegro. Cetijne also worth getting the bus up to. Used to be the capital, full of old places and embassies. Also the home of the pink panther gang who raided places for diamonds over last few years. When in kotor walk up to top of the hill. View down is great. Worth stopping off at porto Montenegro in Tivat too.

Doing the Amalfi Coast in a couple of weeks and will be driving.
Can anyone recommend any restaurants along the coast - Sorrento, Positano etc

Went to this place a couple of years ago in a different part and would love something similar

Went a few years back and absolutely loved it, great place we did:
>Fly into Ho Chi Minh
Lots of great food and stuff to see in the city plus chu chi tunnels and the war stuff was close by
> Fly to Hue
Da Nang and Hoi An are close by we stayed at the Red Bridge cooking school which was superb
> Fly to Hanoi
Ha Long Bay etc are close by, we stayed at the Sofitel Hanoi metropole which is incredible.
> Train to Sapa
If you have time take the sleeper train which is seriously good https://www.victoriahotels.asia/en/victoria-train.html
> Fly home

I'm heading to Vietnam for just over three weeks in June, finishing off with 5/6 nights in HK. Will update when done.

Current plan is:

Ho Chi Minh > Nha Trang > Da Nang (staying in Hoi An) > Hue > Hanoi (+Ha Long Bay)

Any advice or things to do welcome

The Yeatman if you're feeling topper. The restaurant is worth a look in too.
