We spent a few days in Positano which is stunning. we stayed up at the top which is cheaper if you're on a budget. Just be prepared to walk up and down a lot of steps! Pompeii is a must. Boat trip to Capri was also good.

Sicily is my favourite place for an EU vacation… in the South East head to Realmonte and the Scala dei turchei (tho this has become a bit of an insta tourist spot now).. head for the Osteria dei Folli and get the stigghioli. Do a day in Agrigento. You can then drive east to Ragusa Ibla (best spot), Scicli and then a bit north to Marzameme. You could get in touch with Arianna Occhipinti for a visit to the vineyard if that’s your thing. Her wines are great and available pretty widely in Sicily. You could try visiting Frank Cornelissen but I wouldn’t bet on it. I haven’t been inland for a while except for a trip to Gela but it’s getting a bit shady , people approaching cars at red lights, petrol station scams etc

Noto, Siracusa and Isola di Ortigia are stunning, Catania is nice and quite cool and surrounding areas are very nice (Acireale, Aci Castello, Giardini Naxos, Taormina)

Costiera is stunning, a bit too touristy for my likings though

Anyone been to Marseille recently?

Looking to do a few days away for good food and drink, ideally some galleries and #culture thrown in.

Is Madrid happening?

Went to both last year though Madrid was for the Champions League final so can't really judge but were staying with some people who lived there and it seemed a cool city.

Marseille I really liked (and highly recommend getting the train if you have the time). Good wine bars, nice for wandering, Mucem is pretty fantastic and lots of cultural things in general. If the weather is good the Calanque are amazing and even the beaches in/by Marseille are quite fun.

anyone been to yosemite park?
wouldn't mind doing a bit of a roadtrip around the west coast, but focusing on the national parks/lakes etc, and ideally staying out of the cities as much as possible.

anyone done anything similar?

Yeah we did last year, was one of the most amazing things i've ever done. Got some great tips in here if you dig through the thread, burt being one of the god contributes.

in the end we drove from san fran to yosemite, lake tahoe(which was fucking incredible), then down to monteray and carmel.
