Mob - can recommend lake tahoe. There is a hotel called basecamp. Two of them around the lake, they are nice, not too expensive and kinda of fit in with the vibe.

Carmel is lovely and Monterey has some good restaurants.

wouldn't mind doing a bit of a roadtrip around the west coast, but focusing on the national parks/lakes etc, and ideally staying out of the cities as much as possible.

anyone done anything similar?

Yeah we did last year, was one of the most amazing things i've ever done. Got some great tips in here if you dig through the thread, burt being one of the god contributes.

in the end we drove from san fran to yosemite, lake tahoe(which was fucking incredible), then down to monteray and carmel.

Took a few tips from Mob and others for the same trip last year. We did San Francisco, Yosemite, Monterey/Carmel, Pismo Beach, LA, Vegas, Grand Canyon and Phoenix. All I would say is take a variety of clothes of you are doing similar. It was about 10 Celsius at times in San Fran and 42 in Phoenix!

Yosemite by far was the standout part of the trip. We stayed at Evergreen Lodge which was great. Just outside the park but still felt like you were in it. Quite remote too and very typical of what you would expect there.

Search British Airways into this and it'll give you a plethora of different numbers for different fields.

Nice one.

Dug a little deeper online (clicked the link I didn't spot at the bottom of the email they sent this morning) and managed to find the future travel voucher application page. Meant to be going Texas on Tuesday until Sunday but the event has been cancelled.

I’ve chosen very badly this half of the year - Portugal, India, Italy, Japan. Patiently waiting for my flights to be cancelled…
