Anyone planning any summer holidays? I have vacation booked for 2 1/2 weeks after another week at work. We’re likely just going to stay in Scandinavia and visit some places but still wondering about coming to Uk

I have three weeks, plan was to go to Colombia, but obviously that's no longer the case.

Being based in continental Europe will go somewhere by car, I think round trip from Milan via Cote D'Azur\Provence, Barcelona & Catalunya, Basque Country, Bay of Biscay area (Biarritz, Hossegor etc), Bordeaux, Lyon.

Colombia back up plan was Norway, but there's to much volatility around, things still changing daily, not sure about booking flights etc

Re Norway.

It’s totally fine to go to Norway just now from the U.K. no quarantine required anymore and you can pretty much do whatever you want while in country. Everything is open again. Just need to pre book some restaurants / bars but that’s about it.

Booked a week in August on the Amalfi coast, fully expecting it to be a ghost town type vibe but need to get off this island for a bit.

Flying into Pisa and driving down the coast Hanto, will fly home out of Rome, staying in Sorrento for the vast majority of the time.

Very good idea! No cruise ships either presumably.

I was there last month, incredible year to reach.
No cruises, no organised tours, just some tourism from EU, completely changed the whole experience for me, would highly recommend!

Oh that's good to hear. Never been but heard of the stories.

Things are pretty quiet here in Amsterdam too.

Also investigating this for end of August, our booker is saying great deals, and they are going there themselves as well. Will be looking for recommendations for off beat sights and restaurants.

thinking about driving to france - staying somewhere on the west coast… any decent recs for areas? must be near-ish a beach. probably just get an air bnb

alternatives are central/northern france - but with a pool

also looking at possible trip to venice (again…) interesting to hear people are saying its a great time to visit - usually stinks this time of year

Drive to La Rochelle and then over the bridge to Ile de Ré… beautifully preserved place where cars are mostly banned and you can cycle through the salt farms picking up seafood and generally living a rustic French dream

Looking to do this too - going to Tuscany for a week in August, partners family bought a villa out there at the beginning of the year (shit timing!) for the family to use - so first chance to go out. Also have a flat in Venice so trying to combine.. Wouldn't be keen on staying in a hotel with crowds.

Very nervous about travelling though - not great with flying at the best of times and adding a mask to the issue isn't ideal.. Oops

Just been to Åland Island in Finland for 5 days, and now in Dalarna in the middle of Sweden and can’t recommend both enough. We’ve had really nice whether which has helped but spent the time chilling outdoors, swimming in lakes etc, drinking, Kubb etc

Off to Gotland for 5 days to, which is an island in the South of Sweden. Scandinavia is awesome when the weather is right

I'm in Milan at the moment. It's a ghost town. No crowds here. Most restaurants and hotels are nigh empty. Was there last year also iin January, so very off-season, even then things were much busier.
