Is the risk of the second spike/two week quarantine on return not convincing people to just stay at home/staycation instead?

I mean, the weather in the UK at the moment is pretty great, just pack a car and go somewhere you've never been in the UK.

Going away in a week to Italy, if they tell us to quarantine for 2 weeks when we come back I'm really not that bothered, we're in the house most of the time anyway, plus to be brutally honest since I've had it and have the antibodies I'm less nuts about not sharing oxygen with other life forms.

Aye but the U.K. is a shitehole and full of arseholes. Whole point of going abroad is to try get away from brits. At least that’s what I try and do when I’m abroad.

This pandemic has taught us a lot about people.

Seems like a good year for it.

Also looks like I’m heading to Venice on mon. Up to date recs? Knew I’d shared a few in here before last time I was there… Jewish quarter has best best non-tourist stuff

Have you seen the availability and price of accommodation right now? The data show my family and I have more chance of getting hit by lightening than dying of coronavirus.

We’ll follow the facemask and social distancing rules so not pass it on to anyone.

I’m wfh until January so quarantine not a big deal.

So why spend 2 grand to go to Bognor when I could go to the Vendee for a fraction of that?

Just back from 3 weeks in Italy. Following the face mask and sanitizer rules was easy. Weather was bloody amazing and the change of scene was worth it.

Also going to Italy next week - missus' family live there so heading to Milan, then driving over to east of Venice! 2 weeks out of London/UK, can't wait.

for those that have been to Italy the past month-or-so, did you have to fill in any self declaration forms prior to entry? I'm off to Tuscany for the week this coming Saturday but can't seem to see whether I need to fill any COVD forms out?

Arrived in Venice on mon - we were given forms to fill out by BA at check-in. They weren’t checked or anything and were just given to one of the cabin crew halfway through the flight… don’t think she even made sure everyone gave one in. all seemed like a bit of a pointless box ticking exercise tbh

I had to fill in forms on the way back (gov.uk) website… asking where I had been etc. I was driving back but no one checked anything at Calais or Folkstone… I just drove through and home.

Disco can recommend Heunisch & Erben for wine and food in Vienna. Can also recommend Das Spittelberg which does some great spit roasted beef. Area around das spit has lots of smaller Indy shops and small bars. It’s borderline student area but some good little places.

Cmon mate, smell the smelling salts will ya?

There is no ‘second wave’ or ‘second spike’ - jeez, why are people so brainwashed?

More ‘cases’ will appear the more you look for them. Has there been any massive upsurge in hospital admissions or deaths? No.

I said this back in March - we will all end up following the Swedish model which has proven to be the best way to deal with this ‘pandemic’.

Get out there and enjoy yourself.

Edit: I was in Barcelona 10 days ago, didn’t get asked anything on way back and didn’t quarantine or anything. Just carry on as usual.

And I’ll be in Malta next week also. Enjoy.

Depending on what you want specifically and if they are open, due to Covid, I can recommend a few resteraunts and cafes, culture etc. Let me check Google photos and I'll come back to you!

I am down on the South east coast at the mo; first uk holiday in years. It has been 32C every day.
I have been pleasantly surprised.
We usually go to Ibiza and should have been in Thailand now. I reckon some of these beaches down here are cleaner than many I have been to abroad
