Yes Disco, did just that last month. Do Pompei, Herculaneum, Sorrento, Positano and try the Vesuvius hike. A week is plenty IMHO. We were based out of the Hilton Sorrento and rented a car from Avis. Just make sure there's a spare tyre in the car, had a flat and it was a nightmare. We did an ice cream making class with the kids in Sorrento that was kitschy and fun. Da Vincenzo in Positano was amazing for food. Shout me for any more detail.

Whereabouts in Cornwall are you staying? I'd recommend booking everything in advance as they won't let you in anywhere without a booking.

Government has just given Sweden a travel corridor…. a country with virtually no lockdown, no masks, no house arrests, no quarantining for its returning citizens… and a case rate of less than Germany’s or any of the other harsh lockdown countries that treated Sweden like a pariah…
Hmmm…..
Almost seems like Sweden were right all along.
I’ll be crossing the bridge from Copenhagen to Malmo tomorrow evening…

Anyone else going away for half term and hoping to god Boris doesn't give in and go national lockdown again?! Trying to keep my son's excitement down incase the worst happens. We are booked for a week in Cornwall. I have never wanted to go for a walk on a wet beach this much before

looking to go away with the wife and dog from boxing day - new year to escape before 2021.
Can anyone share any decent air bnb or alternatives they have been to previously that could fit the bill - Happy to say in the UK or drive into local Europe. Looking for somewhere with decent walks, pubs etc
Thanks!

Driving in to / out of Europe from UK could be a massive pain in the arse if you're planning on cross-channel ferry or Eurostar around new year. Also make sure you have a read of this for changes post Brexit, regardless of current negotiations.

Yup, can forget a road trip to Europe.

Took my little'un here the other year, and used to go myself as a kid:

Lodges are pretty old-fashioned but the setting in the woods is great. Some nice short walks down the canal, leading to a couple of good pubs. Village of Montgomery is nearby, with some castle ruins to visit. Welshpool is close by if you want Supermarket supplies etc.

Im West Sussex, so that makes things easy. I was going to suggest Rye/Dungeness area, but you'll have that covered I imagine.
We have a VW Camper, so some of these places may need more investigating as we use pitches, but the general areas are very nice and I have stayed in accomodation in most of them as well. If I have some pictures of the areas, I'll find and add them.
Dorset:
Bridport/West Bay/Lyme Regis (Latter can get a bit rammed in summer).
This place in particular has a great pub nearby and is right on the coast -https://wdlh.co.uk/holiday-parks/golden-cap/
Devon:
South Cost - South Hams/Salcombe, Dittisham, Dartmouth. Lots to do in Darmouth area and good for kids etc. If you need stuff to keep them busy there is the zoo and family stuff in Torbay. Brixham is great too and has a Rockfish Fish & Chip shop (there are a couple in the area), but is right in the harbour, which is good to keep kids busy. Salcombe can get rammed as well as is a bit rah.
North Coast - Ilfracombe/Woolacombe/Croyde/Instow/Clovelly. Good for surfing as well, but the villages/towns here are great. We went back there again for the August Bank Holiday just gone. Croyde can get super busy in the summer. Woolacombe's beach is massive, and they have a mobile Pizza van that turns up in the summer, which is brilliant. https://www.stoned.org.uk/ If you like surf culture, worth a look. If you like cider as well, stop at Sheppey's in Taunton, well worth a visit. The scenery in Exmoor North Devon is really nice actually. Just be prepared for some pretty hairy roads and don;t necessarily follow where your sat-nat says is quickest. Same with South Hams!
Cornwall:
Loads here, but nice areas off the top of my head. Marizion/Mousehole/Porthtowan/St Ives/Rock/Trebetherwick/Daymer Bay/Padstow/Boscastle (going there hopefully in May this year
)
Norfolk:
I haven't been that way for years but Wells-next-the-sea is really nice.
Wales:
Pembrokeshire/Tenby area I hear is nice as well.
Drop me a PM if you want any on the West Country bits. They are the one's I generally have most experience of.
