Planning a stag do for later in the year and the only requirement from the groom is that we go abroad to a beach destination.

Was resigned to thinking this wouldn't even be possible, but with the latest announcements it now looks like it could actually go ahead.

Had a look at the usual places but think somewhere like Ibiza may be a bit of a nightmare for what is quite a large group when everything does eventually reopen.

Also considering Albufeira or Barcelona.

Any suggestions?

really doubt it'll happen, sorry, personally I'd put your energy into sorting something within the UK so as not to barrage the other stags with constantly changing plans.

albufeira is a bit of a shithole but imagine decent on a stag. barcelona would be ace as you have a beach. prob a bit more expensive but more to do

Asking for problems going abroad. Even if things are open here doesn't mean it will be elsewhere.

If you are a couple/family looking for a simple beach holiday think you'll probably be ok, however if you want a city break or visit attractions could be a nightmare, queues, rules, distancing might be in place and potentially have to book everything. Trying to lead a group of blokes to tight deadlines as you got 'tables booked' will be a nightmare.

Stay in the UK, book a decent airbnb house with the cons as a fallback in the event you can't get in places here (who knows). You can get it booked and relax otherwise you are inviting a major headache all year.

Every cunt going is going to want to get away I can see it being a load of shit as every thickos expectation is 'everything's back to normal' when it's probably not. I'm avoiding any international travel (except work) until the very end of this year as it I see it being more stressful than fun.

Yup ^ and now we have that Brazilian variant recently thrown into the mix…

FWIW, my co-worker in Barcelona says most places are currently open part time. E.g. Restaurants and cafes open for breakfast and lunch for a few hours with 50% capacity to adhere to social distancing. Few entertainment places are open such as comedy clubs, etc. Also masks are mandatory outside as well as indoors.

If you're desperate for beach, go local within the UK as advised or if your budgets can stretch to it Asia. Providing they'll let you in the country.

really is not the best time to travel regardless of what is going on, the hassle and shite, rules and regs, just postpone it.
I got the hotel quarantine coming up in the next few weeks

What’s everyone’s plans for the summer?

Was supposed to be going to Ibiza for a wedding in August which is moved from last year but I’m not holding much hope of it happening this year either.

Can’t get inspired looking at places in the UK on the off chance that the weather isn’t awful and being ripped off for the privilege.

I’ve done Barca on a stag and it was class. Despite the name this place is really good (https://myfuckingrestaurant.com/?lang=en). They’ve got a little private space downstairs that suits a smaller group.

But yeah, fuck going abroad this year.

Agreed, but prices are going to be ridiculous. I think I'm just going to enjoy the summer with friends and explore the city all over again.

i did barca for mine, was really good but unless you're taking in the sights(we didn't) you could be anywhere.

This is what i'm doing for one of my mates who i'm best man for later this year. Seems the most sensible idea, trying to get somewhere that's got a 5-aside pitch but proving impossible.

I'd have a ring round some agencies if you haven't already MoB, that's a pretty specific requirement.

Going to Kent over the weekend, particularly herne bay, whitstable, Margate.

It seems impossible to book places but does anyone have any suggestions of where to eat and drink?

Sportsman in Tankerton, Wheelers in Whitstable, Four Fathoms in Herne Bay, Bottega, Angela's & GB Pizza Co in Margate, Samworth & Mee, Flotsam & Jetsam in Broadstairs (would think zero chance of getting into Stark but worth a call).

Booked Tel Aviv for august. Brilliant place.
Can’t see there being any problems as by then the UK and Israel should be pretty much fully vacced.

I know variants etc but I’m sure things will be ok for Israel especially.
