Well If I buy a camera, I want something that produces that level of results, no point spending £500 if the results are not good enough.

I think rirawin has a lot of knowledge about photography though and doesnt just point and shoot like me and most people, wouldnt suprise me if he had studio lighting in his gaff.

what makes Rirawin's photos so good (composition aside) are the quality of lenses he uses

ok, I checked the camera is good but they make much better, so an entry level with an expensive lense is the way to get good on a reasonable budget?

yep, that seems to be the best way. the kit lenses that come with the cameras are ok, but spending a bit more on a good quality lens (something I have yet to do) will produce much better results

What Andy said.

I'm using a Canon 350D (400D is the successor to this) with a 35mm L lens. It cost a few fair bob but was worth it. Though I will say it's a fixed lens so if you want a "group" photo you may need to take a step or two back. With it being a 1.4 aperture lens it's really good for low light conditions.

Just going through a few more photos I took today at an open air concert at Raffles city (Business district), where Koop played… will post em later once I've gone through them all.

Today we took a look around a few shops in the Ann Siang area…

"Fred Perry store"

Saw a really nice winter jacket in there… I doubt it'll sell out so I'll get someone to pick it up for me when it's in the sale!

"Frontrow"

stocks APC, Cosmic wonderland and has a cafe on the ground floor.

"Venue"

which strangely enough stocks Raf Simons. Also has a lot of Puma x collaboration stuff like Alexander Mcqueen etc.

Then we went for food…

Later went to an open air concert at Raffles City (Business district of Singapore)

Koop a Swedish band were head lining.

Later on we went to Mustafa Center which is a 24hour shopping mall. Sells EVERYTHING you could EVER think of under one roof. No really. We headed for the clothes section for some Tom Foolery.

(a rather nice beaded tie)

(size 46 cords)

Manage to spend two hours messing around, from 1am to 3am.

Excuse the photo overload…
