That creative geniuses shouldn't be boxed in and just share their talent within a closed group. What's the point in designing clothes that only rich people can buy, Kanye wants this product to be for everyone. It's that the big fashion corporations sign these talented designers just so that they can sell over-priced, often, crap because people are slaves to public perception he is against. Given his latest round of interviews that should be pretty clear to just about anyone who's been listening.

He could work though on the way he addresses these problems and the way he comes off as. People who just turn in to listen to him going nuts on Sway will write Kanye off as mental without a moment's hesitation. I don't think half the ones calling him names have heard anything else except the crazy bits in his recent interviews. There are pure and good intentions behind all those rants if people would just listen and try to take in what he is actually saying.

If Kanye would have it his way there would most definitely be another series of Yeezys out there right now, probably even priced lower than earlier. Just to get that product out in a steady flow.

That thing with Nike not giving him royalties was utter bullshit on their side. No wonder Kanye is frustrated trying to work and get on with money hungry vultures just trying to exploit his brand.

Quite on the opposite I think it could potentially be very interesting with Kanye working as hard on establishing product the same way he established himself as a rapper. He is arguably a front runner in that department the way things are looking today.

That's basically what Sway asked him when he went nuts on him. How people don't understand that he invested 30 or something millions of his own money and lost it because he didn't have the proper production. Like people telling him "why can't you make your own shoes, why do you need Nike" it's because they have the production up and running. Kanye probably feels he should be let in and not have to start from the bottom because he has already proven himself with the LV-deal and Yeezys before. He is simply asking that Nike or whatever company help him with his plans in that regard. He wanted as he said a production place from Nike where he could work on getting out products and royalties as Jordan had in his deal.

The thing is Kanye is really hung up on the money here, as he has been criticized for. I mean it's not like his daughter wouldn't survive if he had stayed at Nike (his reason why he went with Adidas) and he is talking about that he has to provide for his family. But I guess the thing is that he feels that if his money is not on Jay or Diddy-level he is still in some way a slave because he can't do exactly what he wants. That's a bit arrogant ain't it.

Surely it's partly that he feels he is discriminated against by European fashion houses because he's a rap artist and not a white man therefore they won't take him seriously. Some of the big hitters hate that their clothes and champagne are embraced so heavily by "thuggish rappers".

He likely wants to overcome this.

So in summary.
Nike allow a rapper with no design experience to create a trainer. It sells 4000 pairs @ $275 retail so probably $135 to Nike, 4000 x $135 is roughly half million. Minus production, import/export shipping/ taxes and marketing (granted they wouldn't need much marketing on these!) costs at absolute max they make $300k (0.001% of their $24.1Bn annual turnover). For this Nike should now allow Kanye access to the production that they have taken 50 years to amass. In addition he should also be paid royalties for this.

That's because his efforts so far have been minimal. The Yeezy hype was purely cos it was Kanye, nothing to do with the trainers. I think everyone on here accepts the trainers are shit.
