Know quite a few 'normal' people in their late 20's with this. (Not myself though)

I bet your not even very old, you just despise anything young and hip because you weren't into anything current when u were a teen. It scares you, you can't understand it. The clash, the jam etc are hardly esoteric or left field choices, they're pretty reliable
The idea that being into a modern form of music, which has been commercialised and mass produced, yes, is nan kid is too dumb.

Even though Dubstep has gone down the pan really, it was never, nor is currently nan kid music.

not nan kid, but the level just below.

Those I would associate with nan kid usually don't like any music, or go for the comfort of their dad's record collection.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Journey, Barenaked Ladies, Bon Jovi, and other random songs they've picked up in Guitar Hero.

They love a bit of Bohemian Rhapsody.
Note importantly though that a nan kid never truly 'loves' anything. They're incapable of showing enthusiasm for anything. To obsess over something fringe makes you a geek or a nerd.

Don't think all nan kids listen to the same stuff
