Feels a bit arcadey yeah, ping pong passes. Sure it'll reveal a bit more nuance after playing it for more than a day though.

Fucking Fifa. I've never ever had a console or anything like that, but I've got fifa on my iPad. Updated to the 15 and it doesn't work offline. Fucking bastards. Usually play it on my train back to bristol on a Friday. Inconsiderate. Laughing out loud

I've been out the gaming loop a while. Can I just buy games for my PC as a direct download and play them without any discs? I like stuff like Hitman, Payne, Assassins Creed etc.

Ahhh didn't realise you couldn't play online with a downloaded copy. Why do people still play games on a PC though? When we have consoles designed for that exact purpose that aren't even expensive and have better games.

The main reason is graphics, a top end PC smashes the shit out of consoles visually.

As to consoles having 'better games', basically all console games make it to the PC, while the biggest online games on earth - Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft etc. are PC games.

Most people just have consoles because they're much cheaper than gaming PCs, self included.

Oh and keyboard and mouse is the only way to play first person shooters, console controllers are like trying to aim in mud.

The ability to mod and play the games without any graphical restrictions.

Plus STEAM.

For the serious gamers i take it then! I think in reality what your both trying to tell me is that geek nan kids with no friends play games on a PC with people all across the world, whereas the rest of us have a console where we can play a game of Fifa or gran turismo with our friends by handing them a controller Laughing out loud

Just plain geeks, nan kids probably sit on their own playing Formula 1 simulators.

I know a couple of lads who are bang into their PC hardware and they're both regular jagerbomb downing lads on the weekend.

You're paying £300 for a box that basically can play expensive games and watch movies on. A Gaming PC will allow you to play the latest games while being a computer too. 1080p at 60fps is seen as the standard on PC whereas the xbox and ps4 both feature outdated hardware the struggles to output 30fps (see Destiny). Games on consoles aren't cheap either, with the average new release being around £45. Services like Steam are able to sell digital copies of PC games cheaper as there is no cost towards physical distribution of games. Xbox Live is a total farce - paying for online connectivity for a game where you will no doubt encounter pre-pubescent males screaming into their mics. If you're a casual gamer and are fine with paying for the latest copy of EA "INSERT SPORT AND YEAR HERE" then consoles are for you, but if you want an overall better experience - go pc gaming.

Most consoles are just mini PCS anyway but proprietary OS.

so playing online with pirated pc games is a no go? been looking for a good pc game that I can play online, but I don't even play video games anymore and find the motivation to even pirate one seems like it would be a waste

Yeah you can't play pirated games online. I don't play games any more either but I make exceptions for Platinum or Suda51 games.

I use xbox controllers with my pc for couch multiplayer with friends. Can play all the console games plus emulaters if we wanna play an old n64/gamecube/xbox/snes game or whatever. Can't think of any reason a console would be any better (apart from the pricing) but I built my pc 5 years ago and it still plays recent games 60fps 1080p on high settings. I've definitely saved money buying all my games through steam sales, I doubt i've ever payed more than a fiver for a game.

Depends on what game you are looking for. If you want to just play online with friends then you can play most pirated games via a VPN like hamachi or tunngle. If you wanna play a popular game like COD with strangers then just pay for it
