Just received a Tres Bien delivery (OL Shield parka - really excellent coat but unsure about black, hmm) and got the free scarf with it… Fuck me, it's a bit small isn't it?! It's as if it's made for a toddler.

Whats your opinion on the shield parka? Just bought from tres bien this morning. Was a toss up between that or namanica.

in general to me it looks good however i do not like the stiff look of the outer shell if you know what i mean?

to me that makes it look cheap even if it is great quality.

…searching the bomber x jersey in plum black x size large.
seems sold out everywhere (ideology, end, ol.se)
any idea who might still have it? Sad

…a friend just bought that shield jacket.
It looks great, but i'm not sure about that inner jacket.
It seem to be the actual warm part of the jacket, isn't so?
I'm tossing between the shield jacket und acne's matteo…(since 10 weeks, haha)
…so i guess i'm not going to buy a new jacket this season, except i can get a good deal at the sales.
we'll see. Smiling

Nanamica jackets are obviously very technical in construction (Gore-tex, sealed seams etc.) whereas the OL isn’t, despite their description of it saying it is. Not in the modern sense anyway. The outer is only showerproof really and the inner isn’t as insulating as something down-filled. That said, it feels heavy on and would be well warm enough. Personally I wouldn’t want it any warmer. The outer is substantial but has a good feel. It’s not too stiff and will soften up. If it looks stiff it might be the shape - it’s quite a straight, wide coat and isn’t at all fitted, so the fabric hangs in quite a rigid-looking way.

I’m also a bit unsure of what to make of the Welcome collection. They (OL and Tres Bien) are obviously into pushing ideas about taste a little bit after a few years of fashion being pretty ‘tasteful’ and traditional. That Bodoni font and the prints seem deliberately ironic. Maybe they’re bored of subtlety. It’s only a departure from OL in stylistic terms, the construction and styles aren’t that different at all. I’d like to know their take on it in fashion terms, rather than them just put it up in their shop, thereby assuring everyone it’s cool. I liked the camo coat but not quite enough to buy it. Nice fabric but not into the undertaker cut.

just got confirmation from OL that there'll be no mid season collection this winter. "a few new styles will be up this week.. shirt, sweat and Tux! hopefully alongside some shoes too…"

and i guess that's it from them until spring.
