The area around it on the Canal St Martin has plenty of decent bars.

Also this place:

The whole of the street it's on is packed with bars and restaurants.

AirBNB recommendations for Paris?

Trying to keep the cost down as much as I can as this could be a last minute thing for September.

Slim chance but anyone been to Chantilly racecourse and have any thoughts?

^ you cannot recommend steak in Le Marais without mentioning 'Chez Robert et Louise'.

Best steak I've ever had.

Check it out online.

Didn't really rate Little Red Door - OK for a passing drink but there's more reasonably priced and better bars about I reckon. Would recommend the Italian restaurant 'La Briciola' up the road if you're gonna pop there though.

Try Soul Kitchen for food after Sacre-Coeur - popular with locals and away from the throng of tourists that populate the area. Le 8 Rive Droite is a nice little find for sneaks as you walk back down the hill towards the City.

Le Relais Gascon restaurant in Montmartre is magic for French food - would deffo recommend. Lulu White's for cocktails afterwards (Little Red Door beater).

Le Marais is where fukers should be staying. Over towards Ch√Ętelet - Les Halles is good too, near the Pompidou Centre (plus the RER from the airport goes to Ch√Ętelet). Try to stay south of Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est, it can be a bit sketchy up there. Saint Germain is good if you want somewhere a bit more refined / quieter / less fun.
