So, I'm going to Paris on the 10th for 4 days with college and I imagine (hope) that they give us a bit of time to maybe walk around the city a little. Basically I just want to know of any places or stores that I could visit to have a little look around. Off the top of my head I thought of Collette, but are there any others that anyone would suggest?

45rpm's just round the corner from Collette, nice but very expensive. Starcow's worth a look if you're into streetwear and there's some quite interesting shops around the Les Halles area (but don't bother going into Les Halles, it's massive and shit).

Never heard of Starcow's but cheers, by the looks of things I won't be buying much anyway, would be interesting to have a look around though Smiling I'll have a little search for that guide or is there a link anyone could give me?

Any recommendations of good cool normal places to eat in Paris? I'm talking normal half decent places the equivalents of Byron/hawksmoor/maccy ds in London. No where that needs booking or for me to wear a tie.

Finding bars, clubs etc when travelling is straight forward but for eating recommendations only seem to cover the higher end places like I'm some kind of jimmy j rockafella. I want fonzie places.

Chars!

Most places are decent man. It's the benefit of the continent, food is generally above average.
Never had a bad meal when living there.

Going to Paris just before xmas, looking for something boutiquey for around €150-200 per night, location important, something like this, but central - http://www.mamashelter.com/en/paris/rooms/

Cheers in advance.

Galeries Lafayette is my favourite Paris shop, it's a stunning building.

Latin Quarter for bars and cheap(ish) restaurants.

I'm coming back from a conference by train and have 4 hours in Paris to have a wander on Wednesday. Recommendations for somewhere nice for an early dinner appreciated, plus points for near Gare du Nord or Gare de Lyon, unfortunately as I'll need to be done by 7ish a fair few places won't be serving.
