you have high hopes for the human race! I said the vast majority of scientists agree on global warming. I'm not surprised they can't tell us what will happen. things are changing so fast and they don't exactly have any past situations to base it on. i would love to think they were all wrong. I'm def no expert and would guess that water levels would rise due to melting glaciers but i presume you are going to tell me that is wrong (i never challenged you on your sea levels comment so am not sure why you have brought that up)

Unfortunately nowadays media politics have replaced substance. It's true about Cameron though. I don't know what he stands for. Does anybody know?
As for Labour/Blair/Brown bashers: minimum wage, 10 years of sustained economic growth, low unemployment, the banking crisis wasn't the government's fault. People get upset when they feel the hand of government is controlling an aspect of their life but complain when they won't come in and rescue their postal savings account.
And the MPs expenses knowledge. It was a slow news fortnight so it was really hammed up. Sandi Thom (shit singer/aspiring musician) thinks MPs should have their salaries suspended. Girl knows nowt about the good work MPs do even when their skimming tax money for 2nd mortgages. They need a pay rise in my opinion to stop the culture of claiming for inappropriate expenses.
I'd love to see a move towards political thinking from the enlightenment being applied to the modern world. Would result in much fairer and caring society.

MP expenses scandal showed that they are all scumbags. How many supposedly intelligent people are in parliment and not one person from any party took a second to think maybe this isn't right? They are all pigs with their heads so far in the trough they couldn't see a true political calling if it smacked them in the face.
Brown - probably an intelligent guy who has made himself look pathetic with his attempts at public adulation
Cameron - used to consider myself a conservative, but how long has this guy been in the hot seat and I haven't got a clue what he or the party represents
Obama - Is beginnning to realise that as President he can't deliver some of his naive promises
I'll probably vote for whoever lowers my taxes most, I don't trust any of them to take our country forward tho

over the years i've realised its hard to have a constructive debate and/or political conversation in this place.. actually its nigh on impossible.
people dont read loaded or heat for the political or world affairs.

barack obama = alright
war = neccesary - saddam could well have has wmd + was a cunt
oil = something we should attempt to access by all means neccesary, crucial to economic growth
domestic = NHS privatised/ global warming is a load of tosh - most people dont even know why the sea levels will rise thus everyone arguing for it dont know why making it a stupid argument

That's a bold claim considering reality is subject to perspective.
