Thank you.

wouldnt you rather a dictator that carried out what was essentially ethnic cleansing was removed than not?

http://atonesdiscretion.blogspot.com/

do you seriously believe this was the reason? It's an incredibly poor argument IMO. have a look at how many countries have attempted some form of ethnic cleansing over the last half century and how many "dictators" there are in power at present.

Many of those regimes propped by the so-called democratic US.

Kissinger has killed just as many people as Saddam.

barack obama = alright
war = neccesary - saddam could well have has wmd + was a cunt
oil = something we should attempt to access by all means neccesary, crucial to economic growth

domestic = NHS privatised/ global warming is a load of tosh - most people dont even know why the sea levels will rise thus everyone arguing for it dont know why making it a stupid argument

somehow missed this post last night! You want to be a Tory MP? Get the fuck out!

Your arguments are dire. I'll ignore the Obama one 'cos I'm no fan ha

Iraq War - 'could well have had' - waht an utterly terrible justification. You don't engage in actions which will lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands on possibles and maybes. The fact that this many years after the event, no evidence has come to light strngly suggests there never were.

Yes Saddam was a cunt. But what about all the dictators and oppressive regimes supported by the UK and US states? Any arguments that the war was about human rights etc is pure poppycock.

Oil- I don't totally buy into peak oil crisis etc and believe we will discover alternatives to oil. Our ability to innovate never ceases to amaze.

Are you arguing profit for a few at great cost to others is justified? Certinly seems like that - no surprise form a Tory mind.

As for this

'domestic = NHS privatised/ global warming is a load of tosh'

The first bit is unclear - do you mean privitising the NHS/removing free healthcare is good or bad? Hopefully the second

Your climate change 'argument' is a complete load of rubbish. A small minority of related scientists don't believe in the existence of climate change. Similarly, a small percentage don't believe in evolution!

This sentence should really need no comment

'most people dont even know why the sea levels will rise thus everyone arguing for it dont know why making it a stupid argument'

eh? Loads of people can't explain the ins and outs of fairly technical scientific theories, thus the theory is stupid. What?

Unfortunetly most people on the street can't give detailed breakdowns of most theories, positions. Does this make them wrong? By your logic, evolution, continental drift etc are also stupid theories

substantially more if you add up the figures.

Que the Chomsky quote on how every post-war US president would've been sentenced to hanging if they were tried under the criteria used at Nuremburg

Gawk is now my favourite poster, Fonte I thought you would come across a bit better if you truly want to be an mp, not believing in climate change and the serious nature of it's effects is just silly and I don't care what Guido comes along and says about it (no armchair pundit, I'm doing a BSci in Geography).

I read the daily mail daily…well the online version, only for the bikini shots and upskirts/drunken messes outside clubs…what am i subliminally being told?

By the way why is there any love for Brown…didnt he single handedly ruin the pension schemes for millions by adding an extra tax, the tax needed to keep them in the black as opposed to now all of them being in the deficit? Hasnt he been instrumental in the total downfall of the "Labour benefit culture"?

Personally i think if you are on benefits you forefit your right to vote, i mean no one would say "everyone out of work for 3 months or more does mandatory community service/gets a job in McDonalds" cos all the people on benefits wouldn't vote for them, catch 22, we will never get out of the benefit culture now!

no spelling flaws for an apparent 'drunk post'. so many laughable points, fontelroy, probably because you're still a kid.

Isn't there a forum on the internet where I can avoid incantations of Chomsky's pernicious drivel. I thought a fashion forum of all places would gift me this luxury.

You can solve whether to act on global warming with game theory (like the prisoners dilemma etc).

Essentially there are two thing we can do. Something or nothing.
(Simplifying nothing into everything from nothing at all to doing a bit but not enough.

There are two endings. We act and global warming is a myth to some extent and we waste money or global warming is true and it will lead to total destruction of the Earth as it becomes unlivable.

Without drawing a probability matrix you can tell that it is a better idea to do something. Even if you ignore this it seems very disrespectful to fuck the world up…but it's just us overvaluing our importance.

fontelroy you seem like a nice guy but you need to do some reading…If you want to join the Tory's then fine but please realise that Neo-liberalism is a load of toss for the same reason that Communism was a load of toss….Self-interest. In fact that's pretty much the reason everything fails.

Absolute bollocks that Obama gets the Nobel Peace Prize. He has been in office for less than a year and there are almost daily incidents in Afghanistan and Iraq, conflict in Israel/Palestine still, tension with Iran etc. I know he's not Superman and don't expect him to get any of these things sorted any time soon, or at all for that matter, during his Presidency, but he's the World's most powerful man and it's his job to talk between World leaders.

Rant over

Just saw an article about this and was about to post in the Grumpy Young Men thread Laughing out loud

I think he will make a very good President, and will do a lot of good for the World, but the point is that he hasn't really achieved anything yet, so a Nobel Peace Prize is rather premature. Maybe they couldn't think of anyone else to give it to!

WHAT THE FUCK?!!!!! I can't believe he has won it!

The prize is supposed to be non-political! There are countless people who deserve the fucking thing. I do like him and I admire his attempts but for all of his talk he hasn't really brought through the change he spouted on about. If he does sort the world out then give it to him afterwards. That's the whole bloody point! None of the academics get it until about 20 years after, in case their work gets discredited first.

The peace prize is a bit of a joke in comparison to the others…
