What surprised me most about that article is the stats box that says he's only scored 12 goals for Liverpool. Puzzled Thought he had a fair few more than that?

he'll appeal and it will get reduced to about 4 with 4 held over for 2 years.

I'm with mob, I'm sure it was just word against word.
he brings a lot more to the bin dippers than just goals, he's their most creative player.
their win ratio without him is poor.

"We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone.

"No-one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United teammates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth."

FA have shit themselves i reckon, didn't Evra accuse someone else of being racist and got found of lying before?

Edit: Also Evra said nothing during the game to the ref. Bit weird if suarez said it "at least 10 times"

Maybe the FA is balancing things up for Evra's 4 game ban a couple years back……

If they've got strong enough evidence to give 8 matches (e.g. audio or independent witness) then I don't see how it can be reduced, when it's an issue such as racism.

He's still got the charge from the game against us where he swore at the crowd to come up as well. Laughing out loud

You'll have every black player accusing Messi after every La Liga game now if they are banning players on the word of opposing players alone.

Must be more to it than that, otherwise they've set a ridiculous precedent.

The thing is, from i have read i don't thing suarez is disputing what he called him - Liverpool's argument was that in Uruguay its cool to cool brothers negros.

Liverpool's defence involved arguing that the word "negro" does not necessarily have racist connotations in Uruguay.

surly that's bollocks if they're arguing that nobody heard it which they did in their official statement Laughing out loud

don't think so - its been reported in quite a few places. Plus Suarez gave an interview not long after the match where he admitted as much claiming that all the united players call him it too Laughing out loud

Suarez does not deny using the word 'negro' or 'negrito' once, but what has complicated the case is his defence that the term was not meant as an insult and would be acceptable in Uruguay and many countries around the world.

so why would Liverpool say this if they admit Suarez said it? It's a redundant thing to say no?

"We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone when no-one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United team-mates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth while a corner kick was about to be taken.
