Let's say it was for arguments sake, is Michael Oliver in a position to give it? As Pardew claims, it's unfair on a team when referees act on gut-feeling because they couldn't have possibly seen the incident.

Goldie wrote: Oliver called it, and got it right, so I don't see the reason to lambast yet another referee for making a correct decision.

You mean lambast one of the most sought-after referees left in the prem? It's quite simple. He is a career referee who knows that the best way to get to the top is not to rock the boat. And that means not giving decisions against the top four in favor of teams like mine - you do it the other way around. Any doubt, any indecision, any 50/50 or even 60/40 calls…? You call it for them. Simple.

It keeps Barclays and all the other sponsors happy, the FA with their 'Premiership Brand' happy, the top 4 biased sports press happy, and it stops influential people from complaining about them, ensuring that their career path remains clear from obstruction.

He's going to want to be off flying business class around the world for Champions League matches, and European Championships and World Cups - he doesn't want his integrity to get in the way of all of that, so he makes the easiest call - in favour of Manchester United, not Palace.

He went with gut-feeling or as I call it "guessed it" having not even been able to see the incident, even if it was a handball as you vehemently claim. 110% it would have not been given the other way round. As Punch's more obvious pen shout later proved.

Shame you're shit now and Howard Webb has retired otherwise you might be doing better than you are. I'm just bitter you were there for the taking and we didn't capitalise on it like your last 3 opponents.

Still the tories won. Guess I can't have it all Sticking out tongue

Me bitter? I'm not the one that had a dig at someone's apparent political persuasion in the football thread. Bitter cunt.

And that has what to do with prem thread exactly? Puzzled

Stick to the championship (and OTHER leagues) thread. You're gonna be in there for a while fella.

That's a bit rich coming from a united fan this season.

Probably given our wage bill. Overachieved this year already. Mathematically safe before we even kicked a ball yesterday Cool

That would work if they ever got the champions league.

Would also be more of an insult to Liverpool.

s'alright though, you should be happy with survival and 20m for bolasie from liverpool. Laughing out loud

Your teams failings over the past 2 years are much greater than my teams rise over the last 2. Especially considering the huge differences of our wage bills. Laughing at a player we bought for 350k now being valued at 20m is hilarious isn't it?

How much did Falcao and Di maria cost you again? And you just made 4th in the league!

You said the value, not me. I've heard it's closer to 15m. Like we got for Zaha and made a profit on when you sold him back to us. Cheers Smiling
