Classic spin opportunity by that cunt Levy. Realisation his dream appointment is a disaster and uses his inevitable sacking to deflect criticism over this Super League debacle. I hate that scumbag so much.

Think you mean English clubs not British. Scottish clubs still rely on gate receipts more than any other league in Europe. I'd imagine the Welsh and N Irish clubs would be the same.

As much as I don't like him as a manager (and i'm not interested in the person\character) as his teams always play painful to watch football his achievements are impressive, albeit declining after the triple with Inter.

That Uefa + CL with Porto is Jimmy Hill jawdrop

Perez interview was very telling. Super league nothing but a money grab to help clear la ligas top teams debts faster so they can remain on top and attract future Messis and Ronaldos. Sucked the yank owners and russian oligarch right in with promises of more money.

Got to stop them at whatever cost as there are so many things wrong with it. And yes I know UEFA, Prem , FIFA etc are no angels themselves when it comes to monopolising their products but this super league would be next level stuff. Say goodbye to the last remnants of the beautiful game as we know it.

There is a good article on FT about the distribution of money for the 12 teams involved.

Spain pulling all the punches despite having half as many teams as from here in it.

It's paywalled so here's the bit:

Super League clubs have also signed up to a “tax equalisation” clause so that “income tax on salaries shall be normalised and calculated at a rate of 45 per cent”, according to people with direct knowledge of the contracts. This would ensure clubs in Spain, where footballers pay a higher top rate of tax than in Italy or England, are not at a competitive disadvantage when the spending limits are assessed.

Now a Spanish court has come out and said that nobody should block the Super League, this all stinks, makes me think that Madrid and Barcelona initiated this all to save their own arses as they are both billions in debt and building new stadiums, using the other clubs to help them out which makes them all look like a bunch of mugs

Absolute joke of a situation

The irony of Boris and a Tory government condemning this ESL as anti-competitive with the shite they've done in the last 12 months

All those club are in the exact same situation, plenty of debt and, in most cases, no chances of increasing revenues winning a trophy this year or in the coming ones, in particular in Europe, but a few of them
