@rirawin as bill said its a big messy job, so just be prepared, I think its greatly improved the living space at my place especially the bedrooms in terms of usability and making the second bedroom a realistic double. but make sure you have in your budget money for fully redecorating, as moving several tons of bricks (that they will likely drop from the top floor down rather than carry) causes a lot of mess, re patching wood floors etc and re plastering walls. obviously if you are planning to do a total re decorate before you move in or you are planning to do the full loft conversion at the same time then the above is less relevant.
from my experience if I did it again I would wait till i could afford to do the lot, live with the house as it was first then move out and do it all in one go, as this would give you best value out of the works, doing it bit by bit is super disruptive and a lot more expensive

anyone know a good price for a RICS valuation?
being quoted £600 +VAT.
London based.

Just the valuation or the whole survey?
I was quoted 150 Inc vat on top of a 900 quid survey.
Seems very expensive for just a valuation unless London prices are completely bananas or its a palace.

Is that RICS for a Home Buyers report (survey and valuation)? If so I paid £525 + Vat in Bath.
If I wanted a full building survey it would have been £1000 + Vat. The surveyor I went with strongly recommended I just went for the Home Buyers report, as that what he did for 99% of the properties in the area.

Depends on purchase price. For a 700k house my charge normally 250 mortgage Val, 700 homebuyers and building survey 1500 cause I hate them.
My chain is under pressure and I’m thinking of braking it to keep the buyer. Normally I’d take a short temnketmbut thinking about Airbnb presumable you can take these for a month or 2 ? Not used them before and seems like a way of keeping flexibility and avoiding agents fees

Can anyone recommend a good painter and decorator in London? Looking to have someone come and paint a one bed flat.

How does Seenmy go from a bedsit to thousands in books, clothes and a tricked out house with everything custom and refurbished sprockets furniture? Being a stylist? Uh yeah.. he got help from parental units no doubt.
Rirawin, same.
