The PS2 was marketed in a similar kind of way when it was first released. Newspapers were publishing articles on how in a few years time it would be wired into everything else in your home. Did it ever really come to frutation… no. I use mine to play games and have ocassionaly watched DVDs on it.
They should make consoles to play games, because that's the point of them, forget all that other rubbish.
The Xbox with a modchip moved all that on thought. XBMC is quality

Mod packs for games, plus the hardrive will be used as a temp swap file for game files. Reading the game data on the fly from dvd type media is inefficient.

there was one kid in virgin megastore whod been ther 50 hours previous and he was the only prick in the que,.. i saw him,.. in the afternoon, and he was still the only one!!

Yeah I noticed on the few websites that it is available.
Also apparently Tesco have them in not sold out either.
Not suprised considering the price tag.

Loads more units available than the Wii and 360 on launch but I think people just haven't been suckered in by this. The price is a joke. Funny thing is all the ones on ebay that are fetching at most retail.

My mate picked his up last night and said there was only about four other people waiting.
I lost my interest in it when it kept getting delayed and so opted for the 360 and have no regrets at all.
