cosco they certainly peaked in the early 00s starting with TEOSEP but A Dead Sinking Story was absolute quality too. Never really got into Recitation but maybe this will pique my interest in them again.

Heaven in her Arms really filled the old Envy spot for a while, they were really on the post-black metal vocals thing way ahead of the curve too, hopefully they'll get on and drop another LP

Will give it a listen later
…also give insomniac doze a try, it's my favourite envy record. this japanese spoken word thing gets me every time. Cool

Titus Andronicus too indie/rock for in here? Few tracks from the new record have me hoping it might approach The Monitor for sheer brilliance. 29 track triple-LP mind…

Oh man, A Warm Place is such a wave of sheer emotion. Tetsua seems so fat and cheery in real life, so out of context with his lyrics.

Edit: meant to say A Warm Room, mixing it up with the NIN track

What he said.

A friend reviewed it for one of the broadsheets and said it was truly dire. I'm not even wasting my time (or tarnishing my memories) by listening to it

Never liked Backstabbers as much as I probably should but Trap Them were (are? I'm so out of touch) fucking brilliant, such a pissed off sound and perfect mix of fast, mid-paced and slow.

And have to agree about Refused, heard some of the new stuff on the radio recently and it sounded so dull, but then they were never going to be able to recreate what they did with 'the shape…' were they?

New Deafheaven LP streaming on NPR, obviously it's fucking good, heavy stuff much more death metal this time around, quieter stuff more 90s shoegaze/indie than post rock it feels

anyone saw negative approach on one of their reunion gigs? is it worth going?
they come to my hometown this week…so there should be no discussion but i'm a bit scared that i could destroy myself one of my favourite bands when i go.

Negative Approach are reasonable live
