i'd say no, covering letters should be re-written for each application so a generic one won't really serve a purpose. if you haven't already, just add a summary to the top of your CV.

Yeah Jase, not putting it on Monster, its a another site. What about sites that advertise jobs and it says 'click here to send your CV' or similar? Infact nah Im not gunna bother with the covering letter.
