I can't read all the text on that piece, can't get it to scroll down but the figures are estimations. It kind of reads that all the 2.5 million dogs are treat this way which is probably not the case. I think these type of farms are illegal in South Korea and most are farmed/slaughtered in more humane ways. Still horrible for most westerners to think about but hey ho, look at the shark fin trade for something that is a true pisser and a complete waste of life.

apparently some think that hanging improves the flavour as skinning alive, which is thought to be an easier process to get the pelt off and in one piece. Pretty sure Peta say it helps keep the meat tender too.
There are a few Peta vids on the Chinese fur trade in cats and dogs that depict the same, easy to find, but they often blow over the wider facts.
