A man who stripped down to his underwear and crawled across a frozen river to rescue his trapped dog has been condemned by firefighters.



Two dog owners whose pets drowned after they had fallen through ice have been praised by firefighters for not risking their own lives too.

too true. its a horrid and traumatising experience watching a dog helplessly drown.
was walking my dog once in newbury by this fast flowing river, nice day not icy so no lead. it fell in somehow and i watched it go shooting down at a rate of knots in the current. ran as fast as i could to get in front of it, and then jumped in just before some big waterfall type drop thing which would of killed it, and just caught it as it came sailing towards me.
