The war was about the terrorists that Saddam WAS harboring and the WMD he DID have. Give me evidence of one ml of Iraqi oil that's been comandeered by the US since the invasion.

The current situation was created by the Arab Spring (completely independent of Bush invading Iraq) and Obama (Arab Spring supported by Obama in Libya) and Obama's weakness in the region (ie pulling US troops out of Iraq too early).

you're going to need some more convincing sources than a fall 2002 article from earthisland.org on this one i reckon.

Do you know when the Iraq invasion was? It was in 2003. My article shows Bush was already pushing to reduce reliance on mid east oil pre-invasion.

Your link is irrelevant. Foreign capital coming into countries to facilitate drilling or mining is normal world-wide. The Iraqi government and people would have welcomed foreign investment so they could reap the royalties. Also your article states this captital flowed not just from the US but from many countries.

At no point has the US ever taken or stolen Iraqi oil.

I personally think they should have, spoils o' war n all, n to recoup the blood and treasure they spent giving those people freedom. But they didn't. Fuck Saddam.

Will take a lot of spoils to make any impact on the trillions of dollars the US has spent on Iraq and Afghan campaigns. Cheney seems to be doing ok out of it as do a number of others.

^ It's funny how the "mainstream" train of thoughts are deemed acceptable but any notion of difference is called conspiracy. Question everything is what I was told by my parents. It's about time we questioned exactly whats going on in the world.

Yeah but ironically your views that the US invaded Iraq for oil would be considered mainstream in your demographic.

Actually the left is a lot more blinkered than anyone, even though the preach "opening your mind" they're actually the most closed minded in that they will never acknowledge any theory where the US, or corporations or the free market actually do anything positive in the world.

but I thought people were aware that Iraq moving away from $ as the fixed currency for their oil sales (to Euro) was a strong motivator for military intervention…

^ my ends. Drove past the station earlier and there were counter terrorism police everywhere. He was just a mentally unstable guy acting on his own. Nothing coordinated.
